House of Representatives, Hon. Akin Rotimi, has pledged to assist Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, to address its persistent power supply challenges.
The lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, also promised to facilitate other crucial interventions, including the provision of laboratory equipment and an ambulance to improve the institution’s operations.
Rotimi, who spoke at Isan Ekiti on Friday during a courtesy visit to the Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Sunday Ajeigbe, also called on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund to step up intervention in the institution.
The federal lawmaker said, “There is the need for more intervention from TETFUND to support the growth and development of this institution.
“The power supply issue is critical to the functionality of the polytechnic. Beyond that, the provision of laboratory equipment and an ambulance are essential for the institution. I commend the management for their timely invitation and for presenting the needs of the polytechnic clearly and very soon you will hear from me.”
The Rector, Dr Ajeigbe, who highlighted some of the pressing challenges facing the Polytechnic, particularly the issue of power supply, appreciated the lawmaker for his visit and readiness to assist the institution in finding lasting solutions to its problems.
Ajeigbe said, “We are grateful for your quick and timely visit and for your willingness to support the Polytechnic.”
Also in attendance were key members of the Polytechnic’s management team, including the Registrar, Mr. J.A.O. Olorunsola, and the Bursar, Mr. J.O. Awe, who both lauded the lawmaker for his concern and commitment to the growth of the institution.
The visit has raised hopes among the Polytechnic community, with expectations that Hon. Rotimi’s interventions will significantly enhance the institution’s academic and infrastructural capacities, positioning it for greater achievements in the near future.
