For the indigenes of Otun Ekiti in the Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State, it was another time of celebrating much anticipated development as their monarch, the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, brought in Chinese investors to the ancient town.

The Chinese investors were in Otun Ekiti to collaborate on agriculture, education and skills acquisition.

The investors, who were treated to the hospitality of the people of Otun Ekiti and the warm embrace of Oba Adeagbo on arrival at the Palace of the Oore, visited Government Technical College, Moba Grammar School and Saliu Adeoti Secondary School in the community.

The Oore told the indigenes that the collaboration would translate to boost in economy, job and wealth creation, increased agricultural yield, advancement in education and boost in technical and vocational skills acquisition, among others.

The Egbe Omo Otun Ekiti under the leadership of Elder Ezekiel Olalere Aburo was appreciative of Oba Adeagbo’s passion for the development and transformation of the community.

The association conveyed this in a Letter of Appreciation to the Revered First Class King in Nigeria by Aburo and other members of the National Executive Committee, signed by the Prince Adekunle Adeniyi, the National Publicity Secretary, Egbe Omo Otun Ekiti.

They stated, “We sincerely wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and admiration to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye I, Okinbaloye II, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti and the paramount ruler of Moba Kingdom for his tireless efforts in attracting the Chinese investors to our beloved town Otun Ekiti.

“The successful negotiations for these investors’ collaboration, particularly in the realms of agriculture, education and skills acquisition will undoubtedly bring about very significant improvements in our town’s economic and social landscape, and the potential benefits of these are vast and exciting.

“In agriculture, we can expect enhanced farming techniques, increased crop yields and improved market access. This will not only boost our local economy, but also provide our farmers with the resources and expertise needed to thrive.

“Your Majesty, your dedication to the well-being and prosperity of Otun-Ekiti is truly inspiring. We are so fortunate to have a leader who is forward-thinking, proactive and committed to creating opportunities for all.
