NAF PLANE CRASH: GRIEVING AIYEDATIWA SAYS WORDS CAN HARDLY BE ENOUGH

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the scene of Monday’s fatal Nigerian Air Force plane crash at Igbokoda where search and recovery operations were ongoing on Wednesday, said words were hardly enough.

Aiyedatiwa penned his emotion on his Facebook handle.

The governor stated, “I visited the scene of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, the headquarters of my home Local Government Area, Ilaje LGA, today, as search and recovery operations continue.

“Standing at the scene and seeing the efforts being made to recover the victims and locate the main wreckage was a deeply painful experience. This is not just a story we are reading or hearing about; It happened right here in our community.

“The aircraft was carrying Nigerian Air Force personnel on a special mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed in Igbokoda on Monday.

“This is a national tragedy, and my heart goes out to my leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, over the loss of these officers who were serving our country. I also sincerely sympathise with the families of the deceased and the Nigerian Air Force.

“At a time like this, words can hardly be enough. I urge all Nigerians to remember these families and the fallen officers in our prayers, especially as the search and recovery efforts continue.

“May God grant the departed officers eternal rest and give their families, colleagues and loved ones the fortitude to bear this painful loss”.
