Alawe to Governing Council: Make FCE Ilawe a beacon of excellence

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti,Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi AFUNTADE 1, has urged the Governing Council and management of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe Ekiti to lay a foundation that will make the institution one of the best in the country.

Oba Alabi, who spoke at Ilawe Ekiti while welcoming the Chairman, Prof. Sola Adepoju and members of the Governing Council to his palace, said, “Ilawe community and the entire Ekiti people are expecting an excellent administration of the citadel of learning which will produce employable graduates”.

The traditional ruler, according to a statement by his Media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, said that the facilities at the temporary site would aid easy administration of the college till the construction of the permanent site.

He assured the Council, “Ekiti is a peaceful state. Ilawe community will accord students and members of staff the utmost hospitality required”.

The Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Adepoju, expressed gratitude to the Alawe for the urgent and concrete actions taken by him and the Ilawe community which prompted the easy take off of the college.

Adepoju promised to make the College of Education one of the best in the country.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee of the College, Prof. Bode Asubiojo, who was at the occasion alongside some members of the committee, said that “based on the records of the Governing Council Chairman, I am sure that he will perform excellently”.

The Provost of the College, Dr Ajigbade Ikuejube, and other members of the college management as well as some members of Alawe-in-Council were present at the occasion.
