FUOYE Alumni Association donates N1m to support Fasina Conference Centre

* Restates commitment to varsity’s overall development

The Alumni Association of Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has reiterated commitment to the university’s overall development.

The association’s president, Temitope Arogundade, said that the alumni would continue to give necessary support to their alma mata to ensure it becomes one of the best rated in the world.

Arogundade spoke at the FUOYE/DIG Adeoye scholarship event held at Fasina Conference Centre in the institution where he announced the association’s N1m donation to support the ongoing construction of the conference centre.

The Fasina Conference Centre will serve as a hub for academic conferences, seminars, and workshops, fostering intellectual discourse and innovation.

He said that the alumni association’s noble gesture underscores its dedication to supporting the university’s vision and enhancing its infrastructure.

Arogundade said, “We are proud to support our alma mater’s development. This donation demonstrates the executive’s commitment to FUOYE’s success and its impact on our community.

“This donation is not the first from the association, earlier the alumni association donated 36 fridges to the school to support it for the accreditation programme.

“I want to thank the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, for providing the conducive environment for various stakeholders to contribute their quota to the development of the University.

“As we all know, one of the major objectives of the Alumni Association is to give back to the alma mater to see that alma mater becomes great. That is the dream of every Alumni Association. We desire that FUOYE will eventually become one of the best that every one of us can be proud of.

“These are the things driving us as far as the Alumni Association is concerned, to see that in any way we can contribute to the development of our university, we did not hold back.

“We want to see our university among the top rated universities of the 21st Century in Nigeria and the world. We are contributing from our end to see that whatever it takes to achieve that purpose and we are part of it”.

The Director of FUOYE Advancement Centre, Prof. Olubukola Oyawoye, who doubles as the chairman for the Fasina Conference Center under construction, expressed gratitude to the Alumni Association for the significant contribution.

Oyawoye said, “This partnership reinforces the spirit of giving back and strengthens the bond between the university and its alumni. On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, I want to say thank you for contributing to the development of the university”.

The don urged the members of staff and stakeholders in the institution to contribute their quota to the university community.
