President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Abba Abubakar Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, said that Tinubu also appointed heads for the Agency’s department.
The Director, Information & Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, in a statement on Friday on behalf of the SGF named them as:
1. Engr. Umar Abdullahi Executive Director, Technical Services
2. Ayoade Gboyega Executive Director, Corporate Services
3. Hon. Engr. Doris Uboh Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund
4. Olufemi Akinyelure Head, Nigeria Electrification Program (Project Management Unit).
He stated that “the appointment takes effect from 23rd January, 2025 for an initial period of four (4) years in accordance with the extant provisions of the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders.
“Before his appointment, Aliyu served as General Manager at the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc and as Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Power on Policy.
“The President tasks the MD and his team to bring their wealth of experience to bear in providing access to reliable electric power supply to rural dwellers”.
