By Bamidele Eleniola

Family members, friends and relations gathered in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, to pay their last respect to the founder of Owajoba High School, Akure, the late Mr Oluwafemi Samuel Owajoba, on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Oluwafemi Owajoba, who until his death was a member of the Information Management Systems, (IMS), United Kingdom, died in the early hours of Friday, in Akure, at the age of 74.

The great patriarch and philanthropist founded the first Computer School in Ondo State, College of Information Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, and as well Owajoba High School in Shagari Village, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.

The incorruptible retired public servant bestowed a legacy of education on his children. This is seen in:

The late Oluwafemi Owajoba was blessed with successful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Speaking in his sermon during the funeral service conducted by The Church of the Living Stone, Shagari Village, Akure, Rev. J. A. Anjorin urged the family not to mourn because Mr Femi Owajoba died at 74 with great legacies as he advised the family not to allow the legacies to be destroyed.

The cleric said, “It is appointed for a man to die once after which is judgment. Baba Owajoba has lived a fulfilled life and I want you to know that one day, we will die as well, but the time differs”.

Anjorin admonished Christians to always remember that death, when it occurs, should present an opportunity for those who have the grace to still be alive to critically evaluate their lives.

He noted that “God is calling us all to self examine our lives because as the sage lay mortal today, so shall we all lay mortal when the final call comes for us.

“Therefore burial, while it marks the end of time for the deceased should make those of us alive to check our pulse and prepare our ways so that we all can make peace with our creator,” the clergyman said.

Guests were hosted at the Owajoba High School compound at Shagari Village, Akure. Each of the children had a huge tent to accommodate their guests

Dignitaries at the event included: FUOYE Staff, the Isokan Community, Akure and Helping Mate Unity, Ado Ekiti Chapter.

In a chat with journalists, one of the children and the Convener of Helping Mates Unity, Nigeria and Australia, Comrade Bamidele Josephine Owajoba, who spoke in behalf of his siblings, appreciated everyone for gracing the occasion of their father’s burial ceremony.

The comrade and Ekiti-born philanthropist said, “All ministers and members across all the branches of the Church of the Living Stone Ministries are sincerely appreciated for their prayers.”

Bamidele Josephine Owajoba prayed that everybody in attendance would all be celebrated in good health in Jesus’ name. Amen
