It was another time for celebration and thumbs up at Otun Ekiti, the headquarters of Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State as the Egbe Omo Otun UK, Europe & Australia, donated solar powered lights to the General Hospital in the community.
The occasion, which demonstrated the group’s commitment to the wellness and well-being of the people in the community, was attended by government functionaries and indigenes of Otun Ekiti.
The Oore of Otun Ekiti and paramount ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, led the Oore-in-Council and indigenes of the community to the commissioning of the solar power project
Also in attendance were a House of Assembly member, Dr Abimbola Solanke; Ekiti State Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi; and the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Ministry of Health, Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun.
Egbe Omo Otun UK, Europe and Australia, represented by Mr Dele Falade, said the solar power project in the hospital was part of its contribution to smooth operations of the health facility by ensuring improved power supply.
Ekiti HOS, Dr Olomojobi, who thanked the Egbe for the noble and great gesture, advised that “Otun Ekiti citizens and Moba should utilize fully the facility as this will encourage the state government to do more”.
Olomojobi appreciated the President of Egbe Omo Otun Worldwide, Elder Ezekiel Olalere Aburo, for his love in uniting all the Egbe Omo Otun in diaspora and galvanizing them to do projects back home.
The lawmaker, Solanke, expressed happiness that “Otun Ekiti sons and daughters are thinking about home. Just last year, the Egbe Omo Otun America donated beds to this hospital and all these good tidings are happening during the reign of Kabiyesi Adekunle Adeagbo”.
In her remarks, the PS, Gbenga-Igotun, encouraged Otun Moba citizens to be thankful as “more good things will come to Otun Ekiti and we will all be better of for it”.
In his address, the Oore, Oba Adeagbo, expressed happiness at the gesture of the indigenes in the diaspora.
Oba Adeagbo thanked the group members immensely, saying, “This is positive gesture and development” as he prayed that they would increase from one degree of glory to another by the grace of Almighty God.
In a message of appreciation to the traditional ruler after the event, the General Secretary, Egbe Omo Otun UK, Europe & Australia, Prince Adebisi Oyedeji, thanked the monarch for his presence at the commissioning.
Prince Oyedeji told Oba Adeagbo, “Your participation added immense value and honor to the occasion, reinforcing the significance of this transformative initiative for our community.
“This project marks a pivotal step toward sustainable energy access, and your support underscores the collective commitment to progress and development. We are truly grateful for your encouragement and the goodwill you have shown toward this endeavour,” he stated.
