At 84, I thank God that my eyes are quite sharp, reading without glasses. At 84, I still drive myself up and down going as far as Ado Ekiti, Ibadan.

“I am thankful for the achievements God has granted me in my domain. I got to the stool when it was at the lowest ebb of the cadre. When I got to the stool, Ewu was number four, about to be pushed to number five, but through the grace of the Almighty God, from the very low ebb, it has moved to top cadre, which is first class of the traditional council.

“When I got in, Elewu was a rotational member of the traditional council, but through the grace of God, Elewu is now a permanent member of the traditional council.

“Also, for the past four years, I have been handling and championing the affairs of Ilejemeje Traditional Council. By December, I will hand over the baton to another monarch. Within me, I give glory to Almighty God wholeheartedly. The Secretariat of Ilejemeje Local Government at Eda Oniyo, was started during my tenure and it will be commissioned this month during my tenure.

“Furthermore, going down memory lane, when I came on board, Ewu was a virgin land, no good roads, no light, no modern maternity centres, but to the glory of God, we now have two good healthcare centres.

“Electricity, which was never witnessed in the community, came into being in 2006. We now have asphalted roads and many more amenities. Ewu – Usi Road is under construction,” the Elewu said.

The monarch’s wife, Olori Lydia Ajayi, who described the traditional ruler as a man with good heart and great passion for humanity, wished him many more birthdays on earth.

The Olori said, “I thank God for His grace upon Kabiyesi my husband. We are very grateful to God.

“I wish him very very long life, good health, peace, happiness, joy and prosperity. Kabiyesi has a very good heart, there is a lot of philanthropic work he is doing unannounced, and I pray that God will bless him more and more so that he will achieve all the good plans he has in mind for humanity and he will not lack anything good in his lifetime in Jesus name. Amen”.

“He fought and won all battles. I salute his doggedness and spirit of winning battles. May his reign be more fruitful to the development of the town”.

Happy Birthday to the Kabiyesi. Long life and prosperity.
