Ekiti monarch, Alawe, counts blessings, prepares for more devpt in community in 2024

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade 1, has appreciated the federal and state governments and as well the indigenes of the community for the successes recorded in 2023.

Oba Alabi, however, charged the indigenes at home and in the diasporas to sustain their cooperation to build on the achievements recorded last year and break new grounds in year 2024.

The monarch, who is a former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, praised God for the humongous achievements and positive developments in 2023 and the grace to witness the New Year 2024.

Oba Alabi, in a New Year message by his Media Adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, on Monday, listed the achievements in 2023 to include: “St Theresa Community Hospital received the approval of the Federal Government to become an annex of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti while the Federal College of Education, Ilawe Ekiti has begun operations in the town.

“Also, the Federal Government-aided Man o War Bay was established in the town during the year”.

The Alawe lauded Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for the prompt attention given to the reconstruction of Ilawe – Ado Road, Ilawe – Igede Road, Ilawe – Erijiyan Road and the ongoing construction of Ilawe – Ikere Road as well as providing a stand-by electricity generator to Ilawe General hospital in Okebedo Quarters.

The monarch, who expressed joy that more sons and daughters of Ilawe recorded giant strides in their various fields, said, “For the first time, an indigene, Chief Abiodun Alabi, was appointed a Deputy Inspector General of Police while Mrs Funmi Falana, the wife of Femi Falana SAN, became a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

“Many others made their marks in various fields. All these would not have been possible without the cooperation of all, especially our sons and daughters who are highly placed in the society and an atmosphere of peace”, Oba Alabi said.

The monarch prayed, “May the good Lord make the New Year, one of an unprecedented success for all sons and daughters of Ilawe – Ekiti both at home and in the Diaspora. It is my prayer that the New Year will be fruitful coupled with God’s blessings to all and sundry.

“We will witness monumental achievements which would make the community the cynosure of all eyes throughout Ekiti State and beyond in the New Year. Amen,” Oba Alabi prayed.
