Joy broke out in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government area, particularly in benefitting schools in the community on Friday as Chinese investors and friends of the the Oore of Moba, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, made a donation of 200 sets of tables and chairs to four secondary schools.
The investors – Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing, donated the items to the schools in the community as part of efforts to support the development strides of the traditional ruler, Oba Adeagbo, in the town.
Inscribed on each of the desks is the slogan, ‘SEIZE TODAY AND CREATE THE FUTURE’ by Annie/Xia… implying that the education of children is the bright future of the people.
The community was excited at the development which it described as boost to education and support to the efforts of the state government, community and parents.
The four benefitting secondary schools – Moba Grammar School, Saliu Adeoti Secondary School, A.U.D.Secondary School and Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School, all in Otun Ekiti, were full of joy and praises to the Chinese investors – Ms Liang Qiu and Xia Mao Qing for the gesture as they took delivery of the 50 sets each.
The Oore of Moba, Oba Adeagbo, thanked the Chinese investors for the noble gesture, which he said was a great contribution to educational development and ensuring a better future for the people of the ancient community.
Oba Adeagbo also hailed Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for his passion for education and support for development in his community and for presence at the Oore Palace for the brief ceremony to hand over the chairs and tables to the schools.
Governor Oyebanji, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Adesola Gold Adedayo, expressed deep appreciation to Ms Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing for their kind gesture.
The governor also praised the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adeagbo, for his continuous support in fostering community development.
