IT is yet another celebration of the biennial Egungun Festival at Otun Ekiti in Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State began on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
It is a celebration of the beauty of culture and tradition as different gorgeous masquerades are at hand for the world class Otun Ekiti Egungun Festival 2025.
However, the main celebration where all the masquerades will entertain at the expansive Oore Palace will come up during the grand finale on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Dignitaries expected to grace the grand finale, which is as well a boost to tourism development include the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji; Ekiti State Commissioner for Culture, Prof. Rasaki Bakare; the Chairman of Moba Local Government and members of his Executive Council and as well the Elewes.
The Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, who is the custodian of the culture, heritage and tradition of Otun Moba people worldwide, used the occasion to pray for the prosperity of Otun Ekiti, Mobaland, Ekiti State and Nigeria in general.
Oba Adeagbo had last month announced commencement of Egungun festival on the 6th of May 2025.
For residents and people of Otun Ekiti, it has been celebrations since the day for commencement of the festival was fixed as they look forward to the excitement, fun and thrills of the festival every two years.
