The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has stressed that his emergence as governor was not by human effort but by divine providence.

The governor, who will take a fresh oath of office for a new four-year term on Monday, February 24 following his electoral victory in last year’s governorship election, expressed deep gratitude to God for His divine guidance and favour.

Aiyedatiwa, who spoke on Sunday during the Inauguration Church Thanksgiving Service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke Ijebu, Akure, acknowledged God’s role in shaping his political journey.

He quoted Psalm 124:1, saying, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, what would our Israel be saying this day?”

He also expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support received from the people of Ondo State, especially during the last gubernatorial and local government elections.

He said, “As we prepare to take the oath of office tomorrow, we pledge to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability. We shall work tirelessly to create opportunities, foster growth and ensure our state remains a beacon of hope and prosperity,” he stated.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to the Seven-Point Developmental Agenda (OUR EASE), which focuses on socioeconomic advancement in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, and industry.
