* Obedience and Resurrection: A Journey of Faith in Olode Town
Being a testimony by the General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church and the planter of CAC Canaanland, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji
“I have never forgotten my humble beginnings; they always lead me back to Christ.
“The day I decided to settle down in Olode Town was nothing short of remarkable. From being a trailer mechanic to becoming an evangelist, my journey has been marked by one thing: obedience to God and the Holy Spirit. Olode holds countless encounters for me, and today, I’ll share one that transformed my life forever.
“In this town, Muslim clerics once publicly declared I would die on a specific date. Though I knew they were toothless threats, I didn’t take their words lightly. Instead, I sought God’s face on Olusoye Mountain through prayer.
“Around 1 PM that day, two people rushed to me with devastating news: they said my bus had been in an accident near Ikire and that people were dead. Fear gripped me. I knew the only bus on the road carried two teenage apprentices who had recently joined me. In those days, without phones, all you had was your faith.
“As I hurried to leave the mountain, God’s voice came clear and firm: “Did I ask you to go?” I paused, stunned. With trembling hands, I asked the messengers to go to the accident site and do what they could.
“At 7 PM, God spoke again: “Now you can go, but today you will choose—ministry or business.”
“When I reached Olode Town, everyone stared in disbelief. “Is this not the dead man?” their eyes seemed to ask. I gathered my savings, called a few lovers of Christ, and shared the news. They confirmed the accident victims had been pronounced dead and taken to the Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital in Ile-Ife.
“We arrived at the hospital and were shown where the bodies lay. As I stood there, overwhelmed, a voice thundered in my spirit: “Will you accept My will, or do you still desire mechanics and transport business? Decide, and I will prove that I am the God who called you.”
“I fell to my knees and laid my hands on those lifeless boys, praying with everything in me. Suddenly, they rose to life!
“The commotion that followed was indescribable. The white doctors at the hospital were stunned. Songs of praise erupted from believers around us. Those boys’ lives were restored, and my calling was sealed.
“When I returned to Olode with the boys, word spread like wildfire. My resurrection story became my first free publicity. The Muslim clerics fled, and I stood boldly, more courageous than a lion.
One of those boys, now an evangelist, recently visited me.
My advice to you is simple: Obey God’s voice, even when it’s inconvenient or intimidating. He rewards obedience with miracles beyond imagination.
