THE children, grand children and great grand children of the late Madam Omorokunni Adeloye (nee Olabode) of Alade Idanre are celebrating the life and times of their matriarch on Thursday May 1 and Friday, May 2.
They have fixed the two dates for the funeral ceremonies for the late Madam Omorokunni Adeloye, nee Olabode, who passed on to eternal glory after brief illness on Friday, 25th of April, 2025 after clocking 101 years on earth.
One of her children, Hon. Oladejo Adeloye, who highlighted the burial arrangements, said, “On Thursday, 1st Day of May, 2025, there will be WAKE KEEP at the late matriarch’s residence, Irowo Quarters, Adjacent Tolulope Nursery/Primary School, Alade – Idanre by 4pm.
“On Friday, 2nd day of May, 2025, there will be BURIAL SERVICE at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Alade – Idanre. Time: 10:00am.
“Her body will be interred at her Residence after the service.
“The RECEPTION where guests be entertained will follow at Idanre High School Play Field, Alade – Idanre.
The late Madam Omorokunni Adeloye, the wife of late High Chief Adeloye Akinbode, the Sasere of Alade Idanre, was a farmer and trader of cash crops in her youthful days.
She was described as “an ideal home builder, tolerant and accommodating role model who faithfully stood by her husband through thick and thin”.
The late Madam Omorokunni Adeloye, a prominent member of “Egbe Arije Labo Oja” Traders Association, was survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Some of the children are Mrs Cecilia Ibijola Adesanmi, Chief Leewe Jerome Adeloye, Mrs Caroline Akinbolade, Mrs Lucia Kolawole, Hon. Oladejo Adeloye Esq. and Mrs Doris Akinwoleola.
