African Democratic Congress Leader and governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, has announced his intention to contest for the position of governor of Ekiti State.
David-Adesua said that his decision was based on the urgency for transformational leadership in Ekiti State in a bid to give the state a new lease of life that will give prosperity to the people.
The ADC leader expressed hope to clinch the ticket of the party and win the governorship election holding on June 20, 2026.
He spoke in Ado Ekiti at a well-attended programme where his group, the Imole Political Movement (IPM) officially inaugurated its State Working Committee in line with its poise to champion transformative leadership under the platform of ADC.
Speaking on his governorship ambition, David-Agbesua reaffirmed commitment to fostering an inclusive and prosperous society, driven by fairness, empathy, and sustainable development.
He called on citizens of Ekiti State to unite behind the movement’s vision for a brighter future, saying, “This is not just about winning an election; it is about transforming lives, restoring dignity, and creating opportunities for all”.
Members of the IPM SWC are Hon. Yusuf Tope Ajongolo, State Coordinator; Hon. Ajanaku Oke Michael, State General Secretary; Hon. Dayo Jegede, State Youth Coordinator, Mrs Adebisi Olonila, State Treasurer; and Hon. (Mrs) Okunola Olamide, State Women Leader.
The IPM State Coordinator, Ajongolo, who described the event as a significant step in its journey to redefine governance in Ekiti State, expressed members’ commitment to rooting for the emergence of their leader, Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, as the Ekiti ADC governorship candidate and next governor of Ekiti State.
He described members of the SWC as seasoned and dedicated individuals who have committed themselves to the vision of a fair and equitable society.
The coordinator said, “The Imole Political Movement is committed to engaging stakeholders across all sectors in Ekiti State to build a robust framework for development that prioritizes people over politics.
