The inaugural meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council hosted by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, was a defining moment.



It was yet a moment for traditional rulers in Southern Nigeria to come together and rub minds on the welfare of their people and state of the country.
The Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland Ekiti State, His Majesty, Oba Dr Adekunle Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye I, savoured every moment at the meeting as the focus on people’s welfare aligned with his goal on the throne of his forefathers, prioritizing the need of the people of his Kingdom and development of the community.
The meeting was attended by governors from the states in Southern Nigeria.




Among others, they deliberated on regional security, governance, and development and ended the meeting with a unified stance on major national and regional issues.
The Southern Nigeria traditional rulers and governors in a joint communique, passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging his efforts in stabilising the economy, improving governance, and advancing key infrastructure projects across the country.
They also reiterated their long-standing advocacy for a Southern presidency, stating that the region remains committed to equity, balance, and national cohesion.
