The Oore of Otun Ekiti and the Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, does not, at any occasion or any opportunity, shy away from demonstrating his passion and commitment to the health and wellbeing of his people.
This was on display on Monday, 26th October, when a primary healthcare medical outreach was held at the Oore Palace in appreciation of the frontline traditional ruler’s love for humanity.

That day, the palace turned temporarily to a medical and health centre as caring and qualified healthcare professionals were on ground and attended to the health needs of residents of Otun Ekiti and nearby communities in an atmosphere of care, compassion and community participation to ensure they keep healthy.
Recall that Oba Adeagbo also serves as the Coordinator, Southwest, Southern Nigeria Traditional Council Committee on Primary Healthcare, a position that highlights the importance of traditional institutions in promoting healthcare awareness and improving access to essential medical services within communities.
Oba Adeagbo said that the outreach where healthcare workers attended to residents, including elderly men and women, through basic medical checks, blood pressure checks and other healthcare activities, demonstrated the importance of preventive healthcare, early identification of potential health concerns and encouraging members of the public to pay greater attention to their well-being.

The Oore said that the outreach also provided an opportunity for residents to interact with healthcare personnel and appreciate the importance of regular medical check-ups.
The outreach was yet another avenue for the traditional ruler to appeal to residents of his community and indeed Mobaland and Ekiti people to take their health seriously, go for regular medical check-up and seek professional medical advice whenever necessary.
The medical outreach also highlighted the potential of traditional institutions to support public health initiatives and encourage community participation in healthcare programmes, which Oba Adeagbo has been at the forefront of.

Oba Adeagbo has continued to represent the Oore institution, whose palace serves as an important centre for community engagement, cultural heritage and public activities in Otun-Ekiti.
The monarch, who recognises the importance of healthcare to community development, is ever persuaded that “initiatives of this nature can help strengthen public awareness, encourage preventive medical practices and promote collaboration between traditional institutions and healthcare professionals.
“Healthy communities are better positioned to preserve their heritage, support their families and contribute meaningfully to social and economic development”.
