Residents of Itamo Community in Igirigiri area of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State have appealed to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon. Bosun Osaloni, and to urgently come to their aid in the area of infrastructures provision.
They also appealed to the Senator Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and the House of Representatives member representing Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Hon. Steve Olusola Fatoba, being the lawmakers representing the area in the National Assembly, for intervention to give the area good lease of life.
The community members lamented the severe hardship caused by poor drainage systems and dilapidated roads, particularly during the rainy season.

Messrs Olagoke Oluwatuyi, Henry Abas, and Madam Veronica Egbejule, all business owners, who spoke on behalf of the community during a recent New Year prayer gathering, said that the absence of functional drainage had led to persistent flooding, while roads linking the community from Lobinto Junction and through Embassy Island from Agric Olope remain in shambolic condition.
They said that heavy rains often prevented them from conducting their daily trades and sometimes trap them in their shops, unable to return home.
According to them, many businesses have collapsed and families have been forced apart due to the situation.
The residents, who commended Governor Oyebanji for his numerous developmental projects across Ekiti State, appealed for urgent attention to their plight.

They noted that Itamo is one of the fastest-growing areas of Ado-Ekiti and requires immediate intervention to match its development pace.
The residents further suggested that constructing the road through Fehintoluwa Community could serve as an alternative route to Ado Local Government, Afe Babalola University, and the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.
In addition, they highlighted their suffering from erratic electricity supply and called on Governor Oyebanji, Senate Leader and Ekiti Central Senator, Distinguished Senator Bamidele, and Hon. Fatoba to assist with a transformer to revive their businesses and improve their living conditions.
The community stated, “BAO is really doing well, and our representatives at the National Assembly have been very supportive. We believe in them and will continue to repose our confidence in them by supporting them with our votes,” the community pledged.
The community stated that it could be reached for intervention on 08060037220, 08035290392
