Agbekoya to train 800 to boost security in Ekiti communities

The Commandant, Agbekoya Peace Movement of Nigeria, Ekiti State, Sunday Omoyajowo, has said that the outfit is in the process of training over 800 people to provide security across Ekiti State.

Omoyajowo, who said the outfit wanted to train five persons in each of the 171 communities in the state free of charge, sought support of the community leaders for the process to be seamless.

The Agbekoya commandant, who made the disclosure in a chat with journalists, said that the move of the security outfit in the state was to complem

ent the security apparatus of Ekiti.

He called on traditional rulers in the state to support the cause designed to enhance security and ensure that “our life, property and farmlands are well protected and secured.”

Omoyajowo said that the able bodied men, when trained, would be deployed in their communities to provide security cover for farmlands.

He handed over the keys of two motorcycles donated by Yoruba Nation Global Directorate overseas to the personnel of the Agbekoya in Ekiti to enhance their movement during forest combing.

The legal adviser of the Agbekoya Security Outfit, Mr Oladele Adedeji, thanked the directorate for boosting the morale of members, adding that the motorcycles would further enhance their operations.

He appealed to other well-to-do individuals and bodies to assist the outfit in its quest to combat crime in Ekiti State.
