The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, Afuntade 1, has urged Muslims in his domain and Nigeria in general to continue to pray for peace as well as spread the message of peace and fellowship among the people as enshrined in the Holy book.
Oba Alabi said, “We need peace now more than before in Nigeria to ensure rapid growth and development in all spheres of life”.
The former chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, spoke in his palace on Wednesday while playing host to hundreds of Muslims who thronged the Alawe Palace to pay homage as part of the celebrations of Eid-El-Fitr.
The monarch congratulated the Muslims on successful completion of the fasting period and celebration of Eid Al filtr.
Earlier the leader of the Muslims, who is the Chief Imam of Ansar Udeen Central Mosque, Ilawe Ekiti, Alhaji Salaam Salam Arilewola, prayed to Allah to grant the Alawe long life and continue to guide and guard the Oba in his effort to develop the town.
The Chief imam, who lauded Oba Alabi for attracting good projects to the town, further prayed to God to grant His Royal Majesty the enabling wisdom to continue to rule peacefully and at the same time attract more developmental projects to Ilawe Ekiti.
The Alawe was represented at the occasion by three members of Alawe-in-Council – the Elemo of Oke Emo, High Chief Gbenga Agbona; the Ajana of Okebedo, High Chief Maurice Adaramodu; and the Odolofin of Irorin, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi.
