The Alumni Association of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has celebrated the ranking of their alma mater as the fourth most subscribed tertiary institution in Nigeria.
The National President of the FUOYE Alumni Association, Bishop Temitope Arogundade, described the milestone as “a monumental moment of pride and a direct reflection of the university’s growth, resilience and rising national reputation”.
Joint Admission and Matriculation Board had at its just-concluded Policy Meeting, in its 2025 UTME preference ranking, listed FUOYE as the 4th most subscribed institution with over 52,000 first-choice applicants, surpassing several long-established institutions in the country.
Arogundade, in a statement made available at Oye Ekiti, extended heartfelt congratulations to the university community over the feat.
The Alumni president stated, “We are incredibly proud to see FUOYE’s steady rise being recognized on a national scale. This achievement is not accidental, it’s the product of visionary leadership, the commitment of academic and non-academic staff and the hunger for excellence among our students and alumni”.
The alumni praised the university management for its bold and transformative leadership, which they described as pivotal in elevating FUOYE’s visibility, innovation, and academic standards.
Arogundade also acknowledged the Directorate of Advancement, faculty heads and student bodies for actively championing institutional development and promoting FUOYE as a destination of choice for young Nigerians seeking quality tertiary education.
He said, “As alumni, we are proud stakeholders in FUOYE’s journey. We remain committed to supporting the university’s development through mentorship, partnerships, advocacy, and legacy-building efforts,” the association added.
FUOYE’s rapid ascent on the national scene continues to position it as a forward-thinking, student-centered institution which is not just rising in numbers, but in influence and excellence.
