BOUESTI hails Apata’s election as vice chair of Nigerian varsities’ bursars

The Bursar of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti (BOUESTI), Mr Babatunde Apata, has been elected as the vice chairman of the Association of Bursars of Nigerian Universities (ABNU).

Consequently, the Vice Chancellor of BOUESTI, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa, has congratulated Apata, on the new status.

Adeoluwa, who described the feat as recognition of professionalism and excellence, said, “The university authorities are proud of his achievement as a worthy ambassador of BOUESTI.

“We urge him to use his new position to promote professional competence, fiscal discipline and accountability among the custodians and managers of funds in the nation’s varsities,” the VC stated.

ABNU had said in a statement that Apata was elected unopposed during its special virtual session on August 5, 2023.

“ABNU is an association that provides professional leadership for the financial managers and heads of support services of Nigerian universities, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, and probity, to ensure proper accountability of universities funds,” the group said.
