The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, has congratulated Muslims on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, praying that it will be a source of blessing, peace, prosperity, safety for all Nigerians,
peaceful co-existence and progress in the country.

Oba Adejugbe said that the challenges confronting Nigeria at present are surmountable with the prayers of citizens.

The monarch, in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, called for kindness among the faithful by helping and supporting the weak and vulnerable in the society, adding, “Eid-el-Kabir is an opportunity for Muslims to show mercy and compassion to fellow humans”.

He said, “The country is going through some challenges especially with struggling economy and security challenges. These are surmountable with prayers”.

He described the Eid-el- Kabir as a ceremony of sacrifice and total obedience to Allah as exemplified by the exceptional action of Prophet Ibrahim Mohammed.

While felicitating Muslims all over on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the traditional ruler advised that the values inherent in Prophet Mohammed’s life such as tolerance, patience, perseverance, selflessness, love and compassion must be imbibed.
