The words of Ekiti State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare to creative artists on the forthcoming 2024 edition of the Ekiti State annual festival of arts and culture, EKIFEST, is straight forward, showcase your creative talents.
2024 EKIFEST is holding between August 6 and 10 at the Civic Centre, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
Below is a statement posted by the commissioner:
“There is no community, no street, no household that you would not find one creative talent in Ekiti State, just as it is, the world over.
“However, many of our potential sculptors, textile artists, graphic designers and a whole lot of creative talents have their works ‘tucked in’ far away from places where such could be appreciated.
“Famous creative artists like Michelangelo, our own Olowe of Ise, Elder Abejide, Pa Faturoti, Mark Ogunmiloro, (to mention just a few), could not have become renown, if their talents were not showcased for people to appreciate.
“A well-harnessed creative talent can positively impact a society by midwifing industrial revolution and creating varied opportunities for sundry and all.
“This explains why Arts Exhibition is also a major competitive event in EKIFEST 2024.
“All creative talents MUST be marketed for the global appreciation of their works. No More Winking In The Dark!
“That exactly is what Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture & Creative Economy is saying.
“To book your Exhibition stand or for sponsorship of any of our events, call Banke Olawale on 0806-895-7658,” the statement adds.
