The Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye, has charged staff of the local government to show more positive attitude to their duties by way of re-dedicate themselves.
This, the chairman said, included by coming to office regularly and punctually as he cautioned them against all acts capable of dragging the council name in the mud.
Omoleye, who spoke at a prayer meeting held in the Local Government Secretariat in Ido Ekiti, especially cautioned the staff against rumor mongering, truancy, and dishonesty among others.
The chairman thanked both political office holders and career officers for their support and co-operation in the past year and urged them to do more this year so as to take the local government government to a greater height.
Omoleye urged the staff to sustain the peaceful co-existence in the local government, stressing that no meaningful development could take place in the atmosphere of acrimony.
He advised the staff, “Let us always be our brother’s keeper. I will on this occasion reiterate the decision of my administration to reposition the local government in the discharge of its responsibilities for effective and efficient service delivery at the grassroots, as well as making the council area a cynosure of every eyes among others.
“I will continue to run open door administration and make staff welfare a priority. I will continue to ensure conductive working environment to the delight of all and growth of our local government area,” the chairman said.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), Mr Sanya Gbenga, lauded the LG chairman for his fatherly role and for always making staff welfare a priority mostly in the area of payment of financial assistance and other allowances.
The HLA, who said that much is expected from who much is given, urged the staff to work very hard this year.
Responding on the behalf of the staff, the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees representative assured the chairman of more support and co-operation from members of staff of the loval government this year and beyond.
