“Walking in nature can be a deeply enriching experience. Being alone with one’s thoughts while surrounded by natural beauty can be a source of peace and inspiration, which can positively impact one’s overall well-being and social interactions”

The Oore of Otun Ekiti and the Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, harnesses the benefits of walking around the expansive Oore Palace as a daily routine.
Little wonder he is, every day, coming out with fresh ideas to move the community forward and as well contribute positively and immensely to unity, peace and development in Ekiti State, Southwest and Nigeria.
These are, no doubt, contributory to why the distinguished presence and contributions of the prominent monarch are always appreciated in the social and traditional circles including the Moba Traditional Council, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and the National Council of Traditional Rulers Abuja, where he is the Southwest Coordinator.
Oba Adeagbo, who is ever persuaded that walking alone can actually foster mental well-being, which indirectly benefits social interactions, believes such can be a space for reflection, creativity, and stress reduction, leading to a more positive and balanced individual who is better equipped to engage in social situations.
The monarch, attractive and smart in sports wears and trainers, walks around the Oore Palace with the practical conviction that lone walking offers opportunities for mindfulness and appreciation of one’s surroundings, enhancing overall quality of life, which can translate to more meaningful social connections.
Walking offers health benefits including improving cardiovascular health; weight management; lowering risk of heart diseases/ stroke, diabetes and some cancers; reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression; and boosts immunity, studies have said.
Apart from the health benefits including boosting energy levels and improving sleep quality, walking reduces stress and improves mood, increases mindfulness and self-awareness.
According to studies, walking alone can encourage mindfulness, allowing individuals to be present in the moment and appreciate their surroundings. This can lead to greater self-awareness, which can be beneficial in understanding one’s own needs and boundaries in social interactions.
Walking alone can provide the space and time for individuals to process thoughts and come up with new ideas, which can be helpful in various aspects of life, including social situations.
Walking alone offers a chance to reflect on one’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This can be particularly helpful in processing social interactions, understanding one’s role in relationships, and identifying areas for personal growth.
Lone walking allows individuals to explore their environment at their own pace and in their own way. This can foster a sense of independence and self-reliance, which can boost confidence and self-esteem.
Walking in nature can be a deeply enriching experience. Being alone with one’s thoughts while surrounded by natural beauty can be a source of peace and inspiration, which can positively impact one’s overall well-being and social interactions.
