Ekiti monarchs excited by gains of VP Shettima’s working visit

* Oore: We’ll continue to pray for Tinubu government’s success

The moments of the one-day visit of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima to Ekiti State will linger in the memories of the traditional rulers in the state.

The monarchs were excited that the VP’s working visit had brought with it so many economic and development gains to the state.

The Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, in a chat with eventstorch.com at the venue of the MSME Clinic, expressed the delight of the traditional rulers with the VP’s visit to the state in view of the attendant gains.

Oba Adeagbo, who had a brief chat with the VP, said that the Tinubu administration means well for Ekiti State and indeed all states of the federation and the country as a whole, adding, “This is clear from the positive steps that the President has been taking”.

The monarch said, “As traditional rulers and custodians of custom, culture and history, we will continually pray for the success of the Tinubu administration in all ramifications”.

The traditional rulers were part of the programmes in various parts of Ado Ekiti that Wednesday.

Shettima, during the visit inaugurated the 9.2km Omisanjana – Deeper Life – Ajebandele Road constructed by the Governor Biodun Oyebanji; inaugurated Ekiti Adire Hub along Iworoko Road; and performed official opening of Ekiti Fashion and Garment Hub within the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Clinic in the state capital.

The VP, accompanied by Governor Oyebanji; Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, and others also inspected the Third Expanded National MSME Clinics (Ekiti 2024) Exhibition.

Shettima, on the occasion announced that President Tinubu had approved the establishment of an additional ICT hub for the state, saying, “The President has approved the creation of an additional ICT Hub in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. This project will be completed with 90 days”.

“President Tinubu has also directed me to ensure that all outstanding exhibiting MSMEs at the clinic today received a grant of N150,000 each,” Shettima said.

The VP praised Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for being development-focused and for his inclusive governance style.

Oyebanji expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering support for Ekiti State and for the establishment of the MSME clinic in the state, an initiative which the governor said would bolster the state’s economic growth by providing essential service and resources to local entrepreneur and small business owners.

He revealed that the MSME clinic remains a testament to the President’s commitment to empowering grassroots business and thereby fostering sustainable economic development in the country.

Oyebanji who noted that access to opportunities has been the major challenge of Ekiti people, lauded the President Tinubu led-Federal Government for providing various developmental platforms for the state which was in line with the shared prosperity agenda of his administration.

The governor told the VP, “Please Sir, convey our deepest appreciation to Mr President. Mr President has been a father indeed, everything he promised us when he came here during campaign is fulfilling them”.
