A renowned dental surgeon in the Ekiti State Hospitals’ Management Board, Dr Clement Owoeye, has expressed his profound gratitude to the acting Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Olubunmi Shittu and the institution’s management for taking proactive action on the admission matter of his son, David Owoeye.

The dental surgeon had last week appealed to the acting VC and university management to consider his son for admission to study Medicine and Surgery having scored 84 points whereas the university cut-off was 84.65,.appealing that the fraction of 0.65 should not deny his son from studying his dream course.

He had also extended the plea for consideration of his son for the admission to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, stressing that fractions should not serve as yardsticks to disqualify brilliant students from pursuing their dream courses.

Owoeye told journalists on Tuesday that the acting VC, Prof. Shittu, had explained that the admission portal is not yet closed, adding that his son still stood the chance of getting admitted into the university.

He said that the acting VC stated that the university would not hinder students’ career goals, stressing that his administration had put all mechanisms in place to ensure that students in the institution enjoyed quality and functional education.

Dr Owoeye emphasized that the acting VC’s action highlights the robust feedback architecture in the university, which according to him would build trust in the minds of parents aspiring to enrol their wards into the Institution.

His words, “I sincerely want to appreciate the acting Vice Chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Olubunmi Shittu and members of the management for taking proactive action on my son’s case.

“We visited his office on Monday and confidently told us that the admission portal is still open and my son still stands the chance of getting admitted to study his dream course in the university.

“This is a great development which shows that the university is built on the pillar of trust,” the dental surgeon said.
