FAULTY PERCEPTION

By Eleyitope Linus ARANNILEWA

“So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” ‭‭
I Kings‬ ‭19‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The enemy has a number of ways to attack people. Delusion is one of them. Psychologists talk of delusion of grandeur. This is an inflated opinion that people may have of themselves.
It is akin to pride which often comes before destruction.

Confusion is another weapon.
This may lead to wrong choices that can lead to irrecoverable consequences.
Then you can talk of isolation – real or imagined.

If the enemy succeeds in pinning someone to a corner, he can attack with all the venom at his disposal. Elijah suffered from a sense of isolation.
It is often said that perspective defines reality. There is a measure of truth in this. Our responses to life issues are often determined by how we perceive things.

So where our perspectives are wrong our responses will follow in tow.

It is quite clear that Elijah had fallen into pity party. Thanks to his perception that he was alone.
He thought all the righteous had been cut off from the land.

The loneliness he felt in his soul was a make-belief, but it was no less devastating.
He bore this burden for a long time until he got to the mount of God.

That was when God helped him to understand that there were others in his company. “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” (1 Kings 19:18).

Until every wrong perspective we hold is healed we don’t have any real prospect for a better tomorrow.

The prayer we need to make is that God should make us see things as they really are.

Prayer: Father, heal me of every faulty perspective.

Good Morning God’s Holy People.
Blessings to You.
