FUOYE student eyes new Guinness World Record for drumming

A student of Federal University Oye Ekiti, Israel Adewale Olaniyi, has expressed readiness to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for longest drumming.

Olaniyi, a student of Computer Science, who says he will embark on the bid to win the Longest Marathon Drumming by an Individual early next year, adds that GWR had approved his application for the exercise.

The Saki, Oyo State born student, who describes himself as “a talented talking drummer”, says he is eying a record of a minimum of 150 hours drumming to beat the current record of 134 hours, five minutes being held by the present GWR holder in Longest Marathon Drumming by an individual.

He says, “I am passionate about breaking records to enrich African tradition and support local talents globally. Ready to make a lasting impact in the world of art and culture”.

Olaniyi is a students’ union leader, a Course Representative and the FUOYE Faculty of Science Students’ Union Public Relations Officer.
