Members of the Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria are rolling out the drums to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the association in Ekiti State.
Among top members expected to be part of the two-day event when gospel songs, praise and worship tunes would be rendered in appreciation of God are a former National President of the association, Evangelist Bola Are; Funmi Aragbaye; Apostle Timi Orokoya; and Kayode Afolabi.
GOMAN National President, Pastor Philip Olayiwola, said that his members have been using gospel music to unite the church.
Olayiwola, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Thursday as part of activities for the 20th anniversary of GOMAN, Ekiti State Chapter, said association members had also been using as a tool for national renaissance, bringing sanity to the insanity and ensuring positive and moral content and as well value.
The GOMAN president described spiritual hymns as “a guide and God giving commandments to propagate the world of God”.
He said that the association would continue to do everything within its capacity by using music to unite the church and use its strong tool for national renaissance, bringing sanity to the insanity that have no positive, moral content and external value.
The GOMAN President said members of the association across the country are in Ekiti State to use the celebration propagate the gospel of God in the state and in Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman GOMAN Anniversary Committee, Ekiti State, Pastor Ebun Famubode, emphasised the importance of gospel music in Christian religion, saying that gospel music apart from being used to evangelise and win more souls, is also helping in rebranding Christianity.
Famubode reiterated the readiness of the association to continue in spreading the message of love, hope faith and compassion.
Speaking further on the programme holding at Great Covenant Center, Ado Ekiti, Famubode explained that the event would also featured activities such as presentation of awards, thanksgiving service, rally and possession among other activities.
