Gov appoints 10 special advisers, two deputy chiefs of staff to reinforce governance
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of 10 Special Advisers and two Deputy Chiefs of Staff as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.
According to the statement, the appointments took effect from May 1, 2026, and are aimed at reinforcing the administration’s governance structure and improving coordination between government institutions and communities.

“The appointments are in line with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to consolidating the gains of his administration by strengthening strategic advisory roles and enhancing coordination between government and communities across the state,” the statement said.
The newly appointed Special Advisers are Ahmed Abubakar (Maidalan Gombe), Chieftaincy Affairs; Abdulrahman Adamu (ES), Inter-Party Relations; Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Education; Saidu Kawuwa Malala, Political and Community Relations (North); and Adamu Mohammed Waziri, Special Duties.
Others are Mohammed Shettima Gadam, Political and Community Engagement; Abubakar Hassan Difa, Rural Development and Community Relations; Iliya Suleiman, Youth Engagement; Lamido Buba Komfulata, Political Affairs; and Asma’u Mohammed Iganus, Women Mobilisation.
The governor also appointed Mohammed Adamu as Deputy Chief of Staff (Central) and Isiyaka Shu’aibu as Deputy Chief of Staff (South).
The statement expressed confidence in the ability of the appointees to support the administration’s development agenda.
“Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the appointees to bring their wealth of experience and expertise to support the implementation of the administration’s development agenda and contribute to the delivery of quality governance for the people of Gombe State,” it added.
The appointments are expected to strengthen policy implementation, political engagement and community outreach across the state.
