The University of Ibadan International School, Ibadan (ISI) has paid glowing tribute the late HRM Olori Janet Ara Adeagbo, mother of the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo Ilufemiloye I, an old student, “for her selfless dedication, unconditional love and tireless encouragement”.
The Principal, ISI, Y. Akintunde, in a tribute to the late Queen mother, described her as “a woman of strong faith and huge passion for human growth and impact”.
Akintunde said, “We appreciate Mama for giving us Oba Adekunle Adeagbo and for bringing him up to be the great man that he is. Kabiyesi is a great man with glistening virtues and enviable qualities. He remains one of our greatest exports, who apart from being a source of inspiration to many of our students, provides unflinching support to our school on many fronts”.
The Oore, who had before now, instituted the Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo Best Prize in Economics in SSS3 at the UI International School, has, as a mark of honour to his late mother, also instituted a yearly HRM OLORI JANET ADEAGBO Overall Best Student prize in SSS3 in the school.
Funeral activities for the late Olori Janet Ara Adeagbo, who died on June 22, 2024 at the age of 87 years, would begin on Wednesday, September 25.

Today we gather to celebrate a woman of impact, a model of love compassion and generosity. She was a woman of strong faith and huge passion for human growth and impact.
Mama was the mother of one of our old students, His Revered Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun Ekiti. Kabiyesi is a great man with glistening virtues and enviable qualities. He remains one of our greatest exports, who apart from being a source of inspiration to many of our students, provides unflinching support to our school on many fronts.
Mama’s glistening traits and calm mien are notable and well known. She always bore contagious smiles and her hospitality was second to none. We appreciate Mama for giving us Oba Adekunle Adeagbo and for bringing him up to be the great man that he is. Her selfless dedication, unconditional love and tireless encouragement have been the driving force behind Kabiyesi’s exceptional accomplishments.
May Mama’s legacy and unquantifiable impact continue to inspire and challenge us. Mama will be definitely missed but she remains with us through her many contributions, guiding us to make a difference in the world.
