The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has dismissed speculations of plan to increase pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

Following the speculations, there has been panic buying of petrol as fuel queues resurfaced in parts of the country including Abuja, Ado Ekiti and Akure just as many filling stations did not open to customers.

NNPC, in a statement posted on its verified social media handles on Friday, titled, “Important Notice”,
stated, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.

“Please buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide.”
