The Chairman of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, Mr Babatunde Osibodu, has said that local government elections will hold in the state on Saturday, November 16 2024.
Osibodu made the disclosure in a statement in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
The state electoral commission chairman stated, “Thursday, August 8, 2024, is scheduled for the release of guidelines for the conduct of the elections and stakeholders meeting while campaigns by the political parties begin on Friday, August 9.
“The political parties are also scheduled to hold their party primaries between Monday, August 26 to Monday, September 9, 2024”.
The elected local government officials in the state completed their tenure about a week ago.
