Otun indigenes abroad hail Oore for generous donation, commitment to development

The leadership and members of the Egbe Omo Otun Abroad have appreciated their monarch, the Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo (Ilufemiloye1), for the donation of $1,000 (N1.4m) to them.
Oba Adeagbo, who is the Permanent Chairman, Moba Traditional Council of Obas and Chiefs, made the pledge of $1,000 donation to the Egbe Omo Otun Abroad during the 2025 Otun Day
celebration in Maryland, USA.
The President, Alhaji Tiamiyu Salau; and General Secretary, Dr Felix Ayoyinka, who hailed Oba Adeayo for redeeming the pledge, hailed the traditional ruler for commitment to the development of Otun Ekiti.
Salad and Ayoyinka, in a letter of appreciation to Oba Adeagbo, dated September 24, 2026, said the monarch’s donation drew the association closer to its $100,000 project fundraising to build a lecture theatre at the Ekiti State University satellite campus in Otun Ekiti.
They stated, “On behalf of the Egbe Omo Otun Abroad, we write to express our sincere appreciation to Your Majesty for your generous donation of $1,000, in fulfilment of the pledge made at our 2025 Otun Day celebration in Maryland, USA.
“The President of Egbe Omo Otun in Nigeria, Elder Ezekiel Aburo, has informed us that he received N1.4 million, the naira equivalent of your donation, on our behalf.
“Your gesture demonstrates your
commitment to the advancement of our town, and it teaches us that a promise made must be a promise kept. We are elated and deeply grateful, Kabiyesi.
“We commend Your Majesty for your outstanding leadership and the good work you are doing to bring development to Otun Ekiti. We are extremely proud to call you our king. We remain firmly committed to being a partner in progress toward the development of our town.
“We assure Your Majesty that the project to build a lecture theatre at the Ekiti State University satellite campus in Otun Ekiti will begin very soon.
