Oyebanji’s honour for Elder Tunji Falana reward for contributions to peace, devpt – JSC

The Joint Security Committee (JSC) of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere Local Governments in Ekiti South Senatorial District has hailed Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for selecting its Chairman, Elder Tunji Falana, among those that will be conferred with “Justice of Peace (JP)” in the state.

The JSC, in a statement by its Secretary General, Niyi Okunniga, said that Elder Falana deserved the honour in view of his contributions to the development of the Ise, Emure, Orun and Ikere communities in the areas of security and others.

The JSC also thanked the Arinjale of Ise Ekiti, Oba Adetunji Ajayi; the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu; the Olukere of Odo-Oja, Ikere Ekiti, Oba Ganiyu Obaoyin; the Olowuro of Orun Ekiti, Oba Zacheaus Adewunmi and Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo for their cooperation and support to Elder Falana-led JSC.

Okunniga said that the support of the traditional rulers and their communities played vital roles in the success of the security committee in reducing criminal activities in the towns.

The JSC hailed residents of the communities and members of the JSC in the communities for their understanding and support by taking the issue security of life and property of the people serious.

Okunniga, said the selection of the JSC chairman, who is also the Chairman of Ise Ekiti Development Council (IDC) for JP award “is an evidence that someone is watching the activities of JSC”.

The JSC thanked the chairman of the local governments and LCDAs in the area, patriotic elite who contributed immensely towards the Security Endowment Fund in the communities including House of Representatives member, Hon. Niyi Ojuawo.

Meanwhile, training of successful applicants for Justice of Peace will hold on Monday 15th April, 2024 at Lady Jibowu Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti at 9am while investiture will take place on Thursday at the Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti on time to be fixed later

Brief about Elder Joseph Tunji Falana

Elder Joseph Tunji Falana, a man who has committed himself to selfless community service, graduated from University of Ibadan where he studied Economics and Master’s in Development Economics from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

He worked with many multinational companies at home and abroad such as Nigerian Breweries Plc, AG Leventis, Modandola Group & Co and African Development Bank, Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

He was a member of the Caretaker Committee of the defunct Isokan Local Government in the old Ondo State.

He is a former Executive Chairman, Ekiti State Signage & Advertisements Agency and a former Director General, Ekiti State Job Creation & Employment Agency, Ado Ekiti.

Currently, he is the Chairman, Ise-Ekiti Development Council and Chairman, Emure, Ise/Orun & Ikere Joint Security Committee (JSC), a synergy among the local governments, security forces, the royal fathers and many patriotic elites in the zone.

His contributions to security matters in the communities was responsible for the reduced crimes in the Emure, Ise/Orun, Ikere Zone in recent times.
