The Oore of Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State and Permanent Chairman, Moba Traditional Council, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, is a man with passion for development and love for his people and Nigerians.

As such, when he celebrated two Chinese investors – Ms Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing, it was among others, to deepen the relationship between Nigeria and China.

Ms Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing, who are friends and admirers of Oba Adeagbo, had, last week, as part of support for the development strides of the monarch in Otun Ekiti, donated 200 tables and chairs for school children in four schools in the community.

The benefitting schools which got 50 chairs and desks are Moba Grammar School, Saliu Adeoti Secondary School, A.U.D.Secondary School and Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School, all in Otun Ekiti.

Oba Adeagbo and as well the Otun Ekiti community, appreciative of the Chinese investors’ gesture, honoured them – a gesture which Ms Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing so much relished.

The Chinese investors cherished and took pride in the honours going by the way they danced, interacted with the indigenes and flaunted their plaques and emblems of honour.

The Oore of Otun Ekiti, who is the Southwest Coordinator of National Council of Traditional Rulers, said that the donation to schools in Otun Ekiti by the Chinese investors would improve the learning environment for students.

Traditional and cultural troupes and as well students’ group were at hand to add colour to the event and as well entertain the dignified audience including the investors and their friends as Oba Adeagbo conferred honours on them.

The monarch said, “We are honouring them (the Chinese investors) for their support to the Otun Ekiti community in education, agriculture and skills acquisition and for fulfilling their promise to come back to be of benefit of our people”.

Oba Adeagbo, while thanking Ms Liang Qiu and Mr Xia Mao Qing once again for their gesture, appealed to well-meaning indigenes “to come back home to give back to the community that produced them especially to support the education of the youths who are the future of the ancient community”.
