Report on additional fees in EKSU fake – Management

* Varsity probing source to sanction perpetrators

Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has informed students, parents and guardians that is is not charging additional fees.

The management, in a statement by the Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun, on Wednesday titled, “EKSU not charging additional fees”, described as untrue a trending online report that the university has imposed additional fee of N49,000.00 on its students.

The news item tagged “Digital Training Isonu”, is alleging the university management of extortion.

But Olofinmuagun said, “EKSU Management is not aware of the so-called illegal fee and has commenced investigation to get to the root of the matter.

“For the sake of emphasis, such illegal fee is not one of the requirements for the ongoing revalidation of studentship exercise.

“Students of the university should disregard the fake news and go about their normal academic activities.

“Students and the general public are, through this medium, assured that the perpetrators of the fake news would face appropriate disciplinary action immediately investigation is concluded,” he stated.
