THE Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Sunday Asefon, is delighted that the Student Loan programme is now a reality as first batch of beneficiaries received funds.
The distribution of cheques was kicked off by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Wednesday.
Asefon, reacting to the distribution of cheques, said, “The Student Loan is now a reality as the first batch of beneficiaries receives funds”.
He stated, “My joy knows no bounds as this legacy initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to create a new order in access to tertiary education in Nigeria through the education loan scheme comes to fruition during my term in office as SSA to the President on Students Engagement.
“I am not only proud to be part of this administration, but also extremely happy that millions of Nigerian students and parents can now access education without stress.
“This milestone achievement in the education sector will not only raise the literacy level in the country but also put an end to the menace of students dropping out of tertiary institutions due to financial constraints.
“It will also drastically address the issue of out-of-school children, reduce crime rates, and improve security across the country.
“Young Nigerians can start restoring their hope in the Nigerian state as the Renewed Hope administration revives the spirit of patriotism among the younger generations.
“As the nation stands for them to actualize their dreams, so shall they be committed to standing for the country as patriotic citizens.
“Thank you, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Thank you, Nigerian students. God bless Nigeria,” Asefon stated.
