VC lauds FUOYE researchers over exploits

* As varsity celebrates 36 top rated scholars on Scopus database

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye Ekiti, has lauded the outstanding researchers in the institution for their contributions to the school’s ranking and intellectual development.

The Special Assistant to the VC on Digital Transformation and Technology, Dr Olusola Ayanda, said the VC was excited with “finding that no fewer than 36 lecturers of FUOYE have emerged as top rated scholars holding commendable 20 articles or more on Scopus, a compilation of globally renowned high impact research journals”.

Ayanda, in a statement by the S.A Media to the VC, Wole Balogun, stated that Fasina had celebrated the outstanding members of the academic staff who have featured prominently as most impactful scholars on the Scopus database and other global research bodies respectively.

He said, “The VC, on behalf of the university administration and the entire academic community, will like to express his sincere appreciation to the university’s outstanding academic staff, who have continued to demonstrate outstanding research and scholarship”.

The development came on the heels of a recent scrutiny of the research efforts of the academic staff members as pre-requisite for annual promotion exercise of the year 2023.

According to the report of the finding as presented by Ayanda, 10 lecturers of the institution are also listed as outstanding scholars with profound number of h-index, i10-index and citation by the 2023 AD Scientific Index ranking as at August 24, 2023.

Ayanda said, “As at August 24, 2023, 36 academic staff members of FUOYE made the university proud with publications in Scopus.

“They are Ajiboye Basiru O, 107 publications; Agbenin John O, 67; Ntoimo Loretta F, 66; Adeniyi A.A , 65; Lawal Olayide S, 58; Adedini Sunday A, 53; Bolaji Bukola A, 53; Ayanda Olusola S, 51; Adefarati Temitope, 36; Akintayo Cecelia O, 34; Hammed S Olaide, 34; and Olaniyan Adesoji M with 34 publications.

Others are also Adeoye Akinwunmi O with 32 publications; lbrahim Omodele, 28; Mogadishu Hammed O, 28; Oyewole Samuel O, 28; Adejuyigbe Samuel B, 27; Gbadegesin Job T, 27; Faboya Oluwabamise L, 25; Lawal Abiodun M, 25; Ojo Olusola J, 25; and Adeyanju Ibrahim A with 24 publications.

In the same development, Fatoki Toluwase H boasts of 24 publications on Scopus followed by Kuboye John O, 24; Onanuga Paul A, 24; Adedokun Musiliu O, 23; Adeyeye Olufemi P, 23; Osazuwa Isaac B, 23; Ajibola Olanrewaju O, 22; Adeyefa Emmanuel O, 21; Ajeigbe Kazeem O, 21; Oluwadare O Joshua, 21; Adewale Babasola B, 20; Bamidele Seun, 20; Kolawole Funsho O, 20; and Komolafe Kayode C, 20.

Those on the more outstanding list of the 2023 AD scientific index ranking with very remarkable citations include Prof. Olayide Lawal who has 48 publications cited with 5073 citations; Prof. J Shola Omotola who has 60 of his works cited with 2535 citations; Bukola Olalekan B has 64 of her works cited with 2671 citations; Prof. Olusola Ojo has 28 of his works cited with 1134 citations; and Associate Professor Olusola S, Ayanda has 36 of his works cited with 1269 citations, just as Simon Oyepata J, has 51 of his works cited with 931 citations.

Dr Anthony Abayomi A has 23 of his works with 1386 citations; Loretta Favour C also has 22 of her works cited with 1006 citations; while Adesoji Mathews O has 21 of his works cited with 927 citations; and Hammed Mogaji has 18 of his works cited with 490 citations.

Ayanda said, ”The Vice-Chancellor urges all academic staff to ensure the correctness and completeness of their Scopus and Google scholar profile pages.”
