Israel to partner Ekiti community on agric revolution, monarch excited

* Pilot scheme to take off soon

The Ambassador of Israel and Permanent Representative of Israel to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), His Excellency, Michael Freeman, has unfolded plans to partner with Otun Ekiti in Ekiti State on mechanised farming.

The Ambassador made the disclosure in Abuja when he received the Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, Ekiti State, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye l, Okinbaloye ll, who paid him a visit on invitation at the Israeli Embassy.

Freeman said that the aim was to revolutionarise farming in the community using DRIP Technology with the goal of ensuring food security, creating jobs for the indigenes and boosting the economy of the people.

DRIP is a special Israeli technology that facilitates accelerated growth of crops in the farms.

The Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adeagbo, who was excited at the development, prayed that the partnership would work “and Otun Ekiti, Mobaland, Ekiti State and Nigeria will be better of for it”.

The monarch was invited to the Israeli Embassy for his unusual love for his people and development of his community and for promoting skills acquisition through making youths to work with their hands.

The revered monarch has always admonished people that “we see with our eyes, we hear with our ears but we understand we our hands….”

Oba Adeagbo said, “If our youths take part in mechanized farming through the Israeli technology, there will be prosperity for all.

“A pilot scheme will soon come to Otun Ekiti Mobaland so as to show the progress of the Israeli technology. Israel is an ancient country and Otun Ekiti is an ancient cultural community” the Oore said.
