* Gov Abiodun extols IGP’s exemplary leadership
The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr Kayode Egbetokun, on Sunday held a thanksgiving service for his appointment and the successes recorded in safeguarding lives and property across the nation so far.
Egbetokun expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for finding him worthy for appointment in the capacity.
The service, which held at the Redemption Pavilion, Victoria Island, Lagos, was yet another opportunity for Egbetokun to seek God’s guidance and control in policing the country and for more successes in protection of lives and property.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP thanked God for His faithfulness and marvelous deeds in his life and in the country.
He also appreciated Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who was in attendance and all well-wishers “for their continuous support, affirming his unwavering commitment to making Nigeria safer for everyone”.
Governor Abiodun seized the opportunity to shower encomiums on the IGP, praising “his dedication, professionalism and commitment to transforming the Nigeria Police Force and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens”.
The cleric in charge of the parish, Pastor Bisi Olowoyo, lauded the IGP for his “heart of thanksgiving” and prayed for his success as the new Inspector-General of Police in Nigeria.
In attendance included the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Research and Planning, DIG Frank Mba; Assistant Inspector General Zone 2, Ali Mohammed; Lagos State Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa; his Ogun State counterpart, Abiodun Alamutu and others.
