Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday presented two brand new 28-seater buses to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

Abiodun said that the gesture was in fulfilment of his promise to give the two unions brand new buses for their day to day activities.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who spoke in Abeokuta during the presentation, said that his administration had always prioritised workers’ welfare, adding that their “representatives need to be mobile to be able to carry out their responsibilities effectively”.

The NLC State Chairman, Comrade Hammed Ademola Benco, lauded the governor for being sensitive and responsive to the plight of workers in the state.

The NLC chairman, who spoke on behalf of the two unions, said, “We are extremely grateful to our governor for being a man that is faithful to his words and being a worker-friendly governor. We were actually not expecting these at this time, but I think the governor’s word is his bond.

“We are indeed grateful to him and convinced of his commitment to welfare and well-being of workers as well as people of the state.”

The NLC chairman pledged the unalloyed loyalty of the workers to the Dapo Abiodun-led administration towards the optimal fulfilment of its “Building Our Future Together” mantra.
