By John Odunjo

The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III says celebration of Christmas is to show gratitude to God for His mercies in the year.

While rejoicing with Ekiti people on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the traditional ruler said Christmas season is also a period to remember the poor and the less fortunate ones in the society.

The Royal Father noted that Christmas therefore signifies a season for giving and sharing with the people most especially the down trodden who are part of the society.

The monarch wishes that the season brings love, peace and happiness to the country and Ekiti State in particular.

He appreciated the Ekiti State government under the able leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for doing a good work in the State.

The Ewi called on the people not to be carried away with the festivities, but pray for global peace, improved economy, and standard of living in our country, Nigeria

Oba Adejugbe wishes everyone a merry and delightful Christmas season.
