IN yet another case of aide murdering the boss, the Kwara State Police Commissioner, Mr Victor Olaiya, has explained how a driver, Ajiro Kayode, allegedly killed his boss and benefactor, High Chief Abraham Babatunde, the Aromu of Omu-Aran.
Olaiya said that the driver, confessed that in a bid to cover up the crime, he dragged the body of the man to the toilet and made away with money running into millions of naira.
The police commissioner, speaking at a press conference at the police command in Ilorin on Friday while parading the suspect among others, said, that “during a meticulous investigation, the suspect, Ajiro Kayode, confessed to committing the heinous act.
”On the night of August 20, 2024, at about 2215 hours, Ajiro Kayode admitted to sneaking into Chief Abraham Babatunde’s room and brutally assaulted him with a short, hard plank.
“He struck the deceased multiple times on the back of the head, resulting in his death. To cover up the crime, Ajiro Kayode then dragged Chief Abraham Babatunde’s lifeless body into the toilet to create the false impression that he had accidentally fallen”.
It was gathered that the driver, for the first time since working with his boss, saw the man with a huge amount of money running into millions of naira earlier in the day before he planned to carry out the heinous crime later in the evening.
