* Organises free medical outreach, beauty pageant

The monarch and people of Efon Alaaye in Efon Local Government area on Ekiti State have fixed Saturday August, 26 for the grand finale of the weeklong 2023 Efon Alaaye Day celebrations.
The Chairman, Efon Alaaye Day Media Sub-Committee, Prince Sunday Adeyemi-Adejolu, listed activities for the grand finale to include conferring of awards on some eminent Nigerians and launch of N1 billion development fund for the community.
Adejolu said, “Activities for the Grand Finale of Efon Alaaye Day 2023 Celebrations on Saturday will include, “Unveiling of the official website of Efon Alaaye Kingdom; Parades and Traditional Homages to His Majesty, Oba Emmanuel Adesanya Aladejare, the Obalufon Alaayemore, Alaaye of Efon Kingdom; and a special exhortation and counseling for a good life to be delivered by Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon.
“Thereafter, the community will bestow honours and awards on some outstanding Efon Alaaye citizens and three other eminent Nigerians including the Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamudele and ace musician, King Sunny Ade.
“The high point of the grand finale events, is the Fund Raising Launching of the first tranche of the N1 billion Efon Alaaye Strategic Development Fund”.
Adeyemi-Adejolu said that the
Central Planning Committee headed by Panaf Olajide Olakanmi had put in place all necessary arrangements to ensure hitch-free and successful activities for the week long 2023 Efon Day Celebrations.
According to him, activities for the celebrations included traditional prayers and cultural shows to demonstrate the oneness, love, peace, unity and development in the community which held on Monday.
He said, “Tuesday, 22nd August, which is Local Government Activities Day, will feature commissioning of projects and other community development initiatives by the Efon Local Government Council.
Wednesday, 24th August: Sports and Recreation with visits to tourists points in the community and final of Efon Unity Cup Football Competition at Ekiti State Government College pitch kicking off by 3.00pm
Thursday, 24th August: The annual Efon Salvation Day Prayers (Ojo Idupe Igbala Efon) under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Efon Alaaye Chapter with Thanksgiving and Praise Worship Service holding at Erekesan Palace Square between 7am and 10am.
This will be followed by an event tagged ‘Charity Programme’ organised by the Efon-Alaaye Community living in United Kingdom (UK) and Europe by 12noon and a Free Medical Outreach programme by 3pm at some designated centres across Efon Alaaye.
Friday, 25th August: Jumat Service at the Central Mosque by 1:00pm followed by programmes of Youth and Students under the auspices of Efon Youth League by 3pm beginning with a Symposium titled ‘Efon Alaaye Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ and as well a Social Night/Beauty Pageant Competition will take place.
Saturday is the climax while the activities will be rounded off on Sunday 27th August, 2023 with a Thanksgiving Service at a designated church in the community, to be attended by the Efon Alaaye Traditional Council, the leadership of Efon Alaaye Development League and sons and daughters of the Kingdom to appreciate God Almighty for success of the weeklong events.
