Ekiti community elated by indigene’s promotion to DIG

* New DIG has impeccable character, undiluted commitment – Alawe

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, on Saturday congratulated Mr Abiodun Alabi on his elevation to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, saying the news of the positive development was received with joy by the entire people of Ilawe Ekiti.

The new DIG was formally decorated by the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun in Abuja on Thursday.

Oba Alabi, a former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, said, “DIG Alabi, who is a worthy son of Ilawe Ekiti has demonstrated impeccable character and an undiluted commitment to his chosen profession as a police officer”.

The Alawe, in a statement by his media adviser, Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, expressed belief that “the sky is the limit for the new DIG who has always exhibited stainless behaviour coupled with high sense of discipline wherever he finds himself.

“We are elated by the elevation of Mr Abiodun Alabi. The news of the positive development was received with joy by the entire people of Ilawe Ekiti. I pray to God to grant the new DIG long life and the enablement to continue his good work to his fatherland as well as guide him to reach the pinnacle of his career and beyond in good health,” the monarch stated.
