The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has hailed the opening of Greenwich Bank branch in Ekiti State, describing it as an investment that will help people of the state grow their ideas, expand their businesses and create jobs.

The bank was opened in Ekiti State, specifically Ado Ekiti, on Friday as part of efforts to advance its strategy to bring a broader range of banking services closer to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, traders, farmers and other businesses across the South-West.

The Speaker, in a post on his social media media handle, said, “One of the things I would love to see more of in Ekiti is the confidence to invest, build businesses and create opportunities for our people.

“On Friday, I joined other dignitaries at the commissioning of Greenwich Bank’s new branch in Ado-Ekiti, marking another step in the bank’s expansion into commercial banking.

“Beyond the opening of a new branch, I see the possibilities that come with bringing financial services closer to our people. Our traders, entrepreneurs, farmers and business owners need access to the financial support that can help them grow their ideas, expand their businesses and create jobs.

“The development of Ekiti requires the participation of government, the private sector and our people. When more institutions choose to invest here, it creates room for new partnerships, greater economic activity and opportunities for our communities.

“I welcome Greenwich Bank to Ekiti and look forward to the opportunities its presence can create for our people.

“May we continue to see more investments that translate into meaningful growth for our dear State,” Aribasoye stated.

Speaking in the occasion, the Group Chairman of Greenwich Holdings Limited, Kayode Falowo, described the opening of the new branch as the result of a deliberate, patient transformation journey that has helped Greenwich build a strong reputation in investment and merchant banking.

Falowo said that Greenwich’s new commercial banking status “provides the platform to take its expertise in investment and merchant banking beyond large institutions and serve the everyday businesses and individuals that drive economic activities.

“With the commercial banking licence granted by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Greenwich Bank will extend its expertise into communities across the country, serving not only as an adviser to major institutions, but also as a trusted partner to the farmers, traders, entrepreneurs and families who form the foundation of our economy.

“We will support farmers and cooperatives, back processors and exporters who add value locally, and equip traders and entrepreneurs with the banking tools of a modern economy. in doing so, we hope to help keep more of the value of Ekiti’s produce here at home, in the hands of the people who create it. We will work to develop businesses and promote value chain enterprises as trusted partners in the state,” he said.

Chairman of Greenwich Bank Limited, Segun Oloketuyi, said the new branches marked more than an expansion of the bank’s physical presence, describing them as a strategic milestone in its evolution into a broader-based financial institution.

Oloketuyi explained that the bank would leverage its strengthened capital base, industry expertise, technology and relationship-driven approach to deliver innovative and accessible banking solutions to customers.

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who inaugurated the Ado Ekiti Branch, commended Greenwich Bank’s management for opening a branch in Ado-Ekiti, expressing confidence that the bank’s presence would enhance business activities and economic development.

The Governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Niyi Adebayo, on the occasion, said the people of Ekiti State were ready to benefit from the bank’s commitment to excellence, expressing confidence that Greenwich Bank’s presence would create new opportunities and promote shared prosperity across the state.
